Marcel Oudejans

"A good CLA contributes to the interests of the sector and employees"
Marcel Oudejans, member of the Supervisory Board

Marcel Oudejans (1956) has been working in hospitality for a long time and has recently been the chair of the national works council at NH.

Marcel has held various positions in his career within NH Conference Centre Koningshof (meeting & conference management). He has now been elected as a general board member of the Supervisory Board.

"I am partially retired. My career has mainly taken place at the NH Hotel Group, where I first worked in various roles within NH Conference Centre Koningshof (meeting & conference management). In 2005, I became a member of the National works council of NH and for the past 10 years, I have been the chair of this national works council and, in addition, for the past 7 years also the vice-chair of the European works council.

I will remain involved with NH for the time being, as I continue part-time within the 'Labour Working Group' of NH, a group dedicated to good working conditions within our hotels. In my role as chair of the works council, I have gained sufficient managerial experience, but I have also developed a good sense of political relations as an intermediary between the shop floor and management.

Working in hospitality is a wonderful profession, but the reward for that work is not always as it should be. I have therefore been a member of the CLA committee for several years, because I believe that a good CLA contributes to the interests of the industry and the employees. A strong union is important for this, as there are still many people working in the industry who are not represented by a good works council.

As a member of the Supervisory Board, I want to use my experience, ideas about a healthy industry, and enthusiasm for the work to provide our union's board with impulses for good policy."
