“You ensure that training and Your career matter, for the entire hospitality sector”
The hospitality industry faces major challenges: recruitment, craftsmanship, talent retention, and future-proof and life-long careers. As a Senior Training and Your career Officer, you play a key role in how the sector addresses these challenges. You have a direct influence on and visibly contribute to the future of work and craftsmanship in hospitality.
You effortlessly move between bringing our training and Your career policy to life in our sectors and firmly establishing training and Your career internally. You provide substantive input to the board and ensure that training and Your career remain on the agenda, including by participating in relevant consultation bodies and meetings.
Do you know, with your experience in policy Your career and (vocational) education, how to implement and promote our policy within the hospitality sector? Additionally, to manage this policy and build bridges and connections between education, the labour market (employers and employees), and advocacy, thereby strengthening the position of employees? Do you know how to promote sustainable recruitment, progression, and retention of skilled workers? And do you ensure that training and Your career become structurally embedded in CLAs, sector agreements, and the strategy of De Horecabond? Then we are looking for you!

What will you do?
1. Implement our policy
- You translate policy lines into concrete proposals, projects, and collaborations.
- You link training and Your career to labour market and broader sector issues.
- You ensure that learning and Your career become a structural part of CLAs and sector agreements.
- You monitor coherence, direction, and goals.
2. Spar and advise substantively
- You are a strong substantive sparring partner for the board and colleagues.
- You translate developments in the sector into clear positions and advice to the board.
3. Represent and strengthen training and Your career in the sector
- You do what is best for the sector.
- You represent and position De Horecabond with educational partners and relevant consultation bodies.
- You maintain intensive contacts with employers, industry organisations, educational institutions, SBB, governments, cadre members, members, and mentors.
- You actively build a relevant network.
- You are visible, participate, and contribute.
4. Make training and Your career visible within the work organisation
- You ensure that this theme receives structural attention within projects.
- You connect colleagues and initiatives.
- You link training and Your career to CLA policy, the labour market, communication, and business operations.
- You are the internal substantive point of contact and driver.
From a management perspective, you ensure continuity, accessibility, and Insights building. You are part of the CBB (collective advocacy) team and work closely with colleagues, your manager, and the marketing & communication and business operations departments. You report substantively to the board, which is ultimately responsible for the course and policy frameworks.
What do you bring?
You have a passion for building, connecting, learning, developing, and the labour market. You have strong organisational skills! You work in a connecting, result-oriented, independent, analytical, and communicatively strong manner.
You find it important that craftsmanship in the hospitality sector is valued and that employees can develop in their work. You want to work in sectors where employees can be proud of their profession!
Furthermore, you bring:
- Higher professional education level. Preferably in educational science, learning & Your career, public domain, social sciences, governance, and policy.
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the government, education, or labour market domain.
- Proven experience with administrative cooperation and relationships, for example in steering groups, consultation bodies, and/or O&O funds.
- Extensive experience in translating and operationalising policy.
- Experience with strategic partnerships.
- Insights of sector representation including insight into CLA structures.
- Insights of vocational education and Updates labour market developments.
- Driving licence B.
- Affinity with our hospitality sectors.

- A good salary according to scale 11 CLA FNV (€ 3,603.26 – € 4,864.99) on a full-time basis.
