Do you receive a WAO, Wajong, WIA or Sickness Benefit? Or are you at home sick and need help with your benefit application or perhaps have questions about your reintegration? As a member of De Horecabond, you can contact our WIA advisors for information and advice.
What does a WIA adviser do?
The WIA adviser supports and informs you about your reintegration or the process of applying for a WIA social benefits. You remain responsible for the content and conducting a conversation with your employer and/or the insurance doctor and the labour expert from the UWV. However, the better prepared you are with the help of a WIA adviser, the better you will know what to expect, what to pay attention to, and what is important to mention in the conversation. Our WIA advisers are well-trained and certified volunteers from De Horecabond. You can always ask them for information and advice.
The guidance at a glance:
- Advice (by phone) for assessments and reassessments
- Advice and help with completing questionnaires and forms from the UWV
- Assistance with preparation for the meeting with the UWV
- Can refer you to legal assistance if you disagree with the UWV
Our WIA advisors do not routinely attend meetings with the UWV. This is possible, but it depends on the WIA advisor and circumstances. If the advisor does attend, they do not take over the meeting. You conduct the meeting yourself. Our WIA advisors also do not create a file or keep documents for you. We have dedicated lawyers for that. If necessary, the WIA advisor will refer you, and one of our lawyers will take over your file.
Member De Horecabond: "The WIA advisor gave me peace and confidence during a challenging period. I was treated with respect and received clear, expert explanations and appropriate advice. As a result, I felt well-prepared for the meeting with the UWV. The involvement and accessibility truly made the difference. I can wholeheartedly recommend this guidance.”
