Does your employer pay for work clothing in hospitality if it is mandatory?

23-02-2011

The clothing you wear at work serves various purposes; for example, it ensures you are recognisable to guests, looks professional, and is hygienic. Sometimes you also wear certain clothing for your own safety; for instance, if you work in a cold environment or with dangerous machinery.

What do you think of your work clothing? Do you feel comfortable in it? Does your employer provide clothing, or do you have to (partially) provide your own clothing? Do you receive an allowance for this? We are curious about your opinion and experience! Leave your comment on the blog.

What does the CLA say about clothing?

In the CLA hospitality, nothing is arranged about clothing allowance. Of course, you can make an agreement about this with your employer and record it in your employment contract. If you can't work it out, please feel free to contact our Contact Centre
