The Updates CLA has a duration from 1 April 2022 to 1 April 2024. In the past period, we were still waiting for the elaboration of the CLA texts. But it's done; the texts for the CLA catering/hospitality are ready and all parties have agreed.
This means that the CLA will be registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment for a generally binding declaration, so that all catering companies must apply the same CLA.
The elaboration of the texts took more time than anticipated. The work on the texts for the CLA catering, so-called part A, was manageable, as this part of the employment conditions Membership remained partly the same. The new part B, the hospitality CLA, required more attention. This part is new for the CLA and the social partners wanted to carefully review the texts.
How did it go again?
The new CLA catering/hospitality consists of:
- Part A: the 'old' catering CLA. Existing employees who currently have an employment contract based on the catering CLA with the existing CLA articles.
- Part B: the new extra part, hospitality. New employees (from 1 April 2022) or already longer in service based on the hospitality CLA.
- Part C Inflight. This remains a separate part in this CLA, due to different circumstances and work activities.
The main agreements
- A salary increase per 1 April 2022 for actual paid wages and scale wages of 3.4%
- A salary increase per 1 January 2023 for actual paid wages and scale wages of 2%
- Per 1 October 2023 a one-off payment of gross €325 per person pro rata to the size of the employment contract
- CLA duration 24 months up to and including 31 March 2024
- Inflight: new travel allowance scheme per 1 October 2022
- Possibility for employees to switch from part A to B while retaining the value of the employment conditions Membership.
Generation pact scheme postponed
The generation pact scheme (also known as the 80-92.5-92.5 scheme, for Inflight 80-95-95) is only applicable to part B of the CLA. The agreement was to implement this scheme on 1 January 2023. Unfortunately, some snags were identified during the implementation setup, and the implementation is postponed until 1 April 2023.
