Employees of KLM Catering Services (KCS) held a work stoppage this morning from 8.00 am to 10.00 am for a better CLA catering. The willingness to take action was high, with half of the KCS employees who were working participating in the work stoppage.
KCS employees interrupted their work for 2 hours, resulting in multiple flights being cancelled or delayed, and some even departed without food.
The KCS work stoppage coincided with the work stoppage of FNV Ground Staff of KLM. However, it concerns a different conflict; KCS falls under a different CLA than the ground staff, but it is 100% a subsidiary of KLM.
Next actions for a better CLA catering
With the work stoppage, KCS employees have shown that they have had enough and are fighting in this way for better pay, higher travel allowance, and arrangements to sustain the work properly in the future. FNV Catering is proud of the activists. In the coming period, we will continue with actions in the catering sector.
