CLA campaign successfully underway!

23-07-2024

At the beginning of July, our campaign ‘Help in the hunt for a better CLA’ was launched with Tigo, our hospitality pro, in the lead role. We are calling on hospitality staff to let us know what they consider important for the new CLA. This will expire at the end of this year, and we will start negotiations this autumn. Perhaps you have already spoken to or seen our team during a company visit this summer, or have you already shared your opinion online? That's great, you're not the only one! Thousands of hospitality staff have already completed the survey.

Top 4 topics

The interim survey also shows this year that a real pay rise, a good work-life balance, allowances, and tackling workload are important topics. Last year, we achieved great successes on these themes, but there is always room for improvement! In times of staff shortages, it is especially important to listen to the wishes of employees. This way, they remain in the sector and new employees are attracted.

CLA declared generally binding

The Updates CLA hospitality has also been declared generally binding (avv) as of 17 July 2024. This means that the CLA applies to almost all employers and employees in the sector, not just if your employer is affiliated with KHN or if the CLA hospitality is included in your employment contract.  We ask the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment to declare every CLA we conclude as avv. This prevents competition on employment conditions and makes our CLA the minimum in the sector.  In the last CLA, we adjusted the scope, so exemption is now only possible under strict conditions. As a result, an even larger group of employees is expected to fall under the CLA hospitality.

It is therefore extra important to give your opinion, as the agreements we make in the new CLA will likely also apply to you. Haven't given your opinion yet? Join in and let us know what you think. Only with your input do we know what is happening, what can be improved, and what the sector needs.
