During the spring holiday, around 1.2 million Dutch people are expected to go on holiday this year, according to NBTC Holland Marketing. Compared to last year, this is an increase of 100,000. Nearly 550,000 holidays will be spent in the Netherlands and over 650,000 abroad. The hospitality industry can prepare for a good period.
Bungalow favourite
During the spring holiday, slightly less than half (45%) of Dutch holidaymakers will spend their holiday in the Netherlands. About 60 percent of domestic holidays will be spent in a (luxury) bungalow or holiday cottage. Around 650,000 Dutch people will head abroad for a (winter sports) holiday during the spring holiday; Austria, Germany, France, and Belgium are the most popular destinations.
