CLA recreation generally declared binding

11-08-2024

Last March, the members approved the new CLA recreation for 2024-2025. This means that, with retroactive effect from 1 January 2024, there is again a CLA recreation. The CLA text has been modernised. Less legalistic, more readable, and with a more logical structure. It is now also clear through the use of colours which rules specifically apply to the employee and which to the employer (orange colour).

However, the CLA still needed to be 'declared generally binding'. A formal process in which the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment assesses the CLA. The request for a general binding declaration has been approved. This means that the CLA recreation is applicable from 8 August 2024 to all employers in the residential recreation sector who have staff. This concerns employers who are not affiliated with HISWA-RECRON (the employers' organisation) and who do fall under the scope of the CLA. This also applies to companies with side activities such as their own hospitality, swimming pool, sports and games facilities, wellness and sauna, as long as there are also recreation activities.

For you, as an employee, this means that the employer is obliged to apply the CLA recreation. Do you want to know what your rights and obligations are? Then download the CLA recreation
