As a member of the works council, you are entitled to training; this is stipulated in the works councils Act (WOR). It also states that your employer is obliged to pay for this.
If you want to use training as a works council, you must discuss this with your employer. In some organisations, it will be a given that the works council attends training annually. In other organisations, the works council is not valued, which may make an employer reluctant to allocate a training budget.

In our brochure ‘Training rights works council’ you can read all about what training and works council mean, how it all fits together, and how you can make effective use of it as a works council.
