At the end of this year, the CLA hospitality will expire. Therefore, we are starting the new CLA campaign this summer. Behind the scenes, we are already busy with preparations together with our active members.
For me, this is the third time I am negotiating the CLA hospitality. I am curious to see how the process will go this time. One thing I know for sure: there is a lot happening in the sector.
Employers are dealing with rising costs and economic uncertainty. At the same time, hospitality staff notice that the cost of daily living continues to rise and the workload remains high. New legislation will also impact the agreements in the CLA hospitality.
Employers, trade unions, and other organisations are working hard to improve the image of hospitality. Yet, the staff shortage remains significant. Many professionals leave the sector due to high workload, long working hours, or better employment conditions in other sectors.
And this while so many hospitality people still perform their craft with so much passion. People work hard, make long days, and put in a lot of energy for guests. That is precisely why they deserve good employment conditions and pleasant working environments. We will continue to fight for this!
This autumn, negotiations for a new CLA hospitality will begin. At the beginning of July, we will start our campaign to gather as many ideas and opinions from hospitality staff as possible. What is going well? What needs improvement? And what do you find important in the new CLA?
Your input is indispensable. Only together can we enter the negotiations well-prepared and truly advocate for the voice of hospitality staff.
In the coming period, we will keep you informed of all the steps towards the new CLA. We look forward to working together.
