In the past few weeks, we have visited various recreation parks in the Netherlands. During these visits, we spoke with many employees about the CLA recreation. How is this CLA actually established? Who makes the agreements? And how do we ensure that your voice is heard?
Your experiences are important
During our visits, we explained how CLA negotiations work. Everything starts on the work floor. With the experiences, wishes, and concerns of employees like you. We discussed the Updates situation in the sector. About the lack of a salary increase. About employers who are still pressing the pause button when it comes to new agreements. But also about the challenges you face daily. Think of staff shortages, high work pressure, and wages that lag behind the cost of living.
Your story is on the table
With all this information, we resumed discussions with employers in June. We made it clear what recreation employees need.
We indicated that stagnation is no longer an option and employees cannot wait for better agreements. If we want the recreation sector to remain attractive to guests, we must continue to invest in quality and experience. This also requires good employment conditions. Because only with enough employees who can work with pleasure, will the sector remain strong and future-proof. A good guest experience starts with employees who work with pleasure, are proud of their profession, and are fairly rewarded for it.
There is movement in the discussions
The meeting in June was more positive than previous discussions. We talked about our members' wishes for a new CLA and about the conditions for a CLA from 2027.
We also made it clear that many employees are struggling to make ends meet financially. That is why we are terminating the Updates CLA this year. Employees deserve clarity and better agreements for the future.
Your opinion remains needed
In September, discussions with employers will continue. Until then, we remain active in the sector. We visit workplaces and are keen to talk with you and your colleagues. The more employees speak up, the stronger we can represent your interests at the negotiation table.
Together for a new CLA
Our goal is clear: working in the recreation sector must be attractive and remain so. The important work you do every day deserves appreciation. And that appreciation must also be reflected in the employment conditions.
Together we make clear what is needed and stand up for a better future. Together we work towards a new CLA recreation. Are you joining us?
